Types of Curtain Wall Window Systems

There are several ways to attach glazed aluminum frames and walling systems:

  • Mullion and transom frame. These aluminum curtain wall systems are most widely used due to their reliability and high bearing capacity. A single frame of this kind consists of vertical and horizontal elements, which are fastened using the overlay method. The disadvantage of this system is that the visible frame is about 5 centimeters wide;
  • Semi-structural. Structurally, they repeat the previous type of profiles but are more decorative. Their metal parts protrude just a little bit above the glass part which creates the effect of a one-piece translucent canvas;
  • Sliding and hinged. These curtain wall systems are used for glazing balconies and loggias, as well as separate elements (to form doors and vents) on facades. Even though the materials used are glass and aluminum, frames of this type are significantly different in their thermal insulation properties.
The mullion and transom frame aluminum profiles have a very thick and robust base seal. The long-lasting polymer layer ensures the leakproofness of the structure and safe fixation of the glass.

Depending on the wishes of our customers and the characteristics of the object, aluminum parts can be painted in any shade according to the RAL system. The protective layer applied by spraying performs decorative functions throughout the entire service life. It does not tarnish or peel off.

The aluminum profile for facade glazing is used in the design of retail, office, administrative and residential buildings. Individual elements of the profile system are used to form winter gardens, transparent roofs, "lanterns" and terraces.
