There are many types of exterior door thresholds made of aluminum. They differ in the following characteristics:

  • Metal thickness (for most products it is 1.2–3 mm, many models have thickenings to increase strength);

  • Shape type (flat, round, asymmetrical, step-like),

  • Maximum height difference;

  • Width of the aluminum threshold (from 20 to 100 mm);

  • Additional elements - a cable channel, corrugations, special mounting protrusions that prevent the aluminum door threshold strips from displacement.

An aluminum threshold for doors manufactured by BK-ALPROF can be attached to the base with self-tapping screws. You must first mark the spots for the holes. Aluminum thresholds are non-toxic, wear out slowly even with intense exposure and retain their original appearance throughout the entire service life. Many models are designed not only for foot traffic but also for the movement of trolleys and cleaning equipment.

How We Increase Durability

In order to increase strength and durability, these door sills can be anodized or powder-coated. With this technique the metal structure on the surface changes and hardens, so wear resistance and fatigue resistance get significantly better.
